The Wine Cellar is one of the largest retailers of wine, beer, and alcohol on Providenciales. Ask a long-time resident or Providenciales local where they get their wine and alcohol from, and they might direct you to Discount Liquors—it’s an old name for The Wine Cellar, a locally owned and operated liquor store that has served Provo with a large selection of wines, beers, and spirits from around the world since 1987.
For most people hosting events on island, The Wine Cellar is their first stop to shop for beer, premium and top-shelf spirits, and wines. The Cellar also carries a large selection of international cigarettes and cigars. Located right off Leeward Highway, the store is a 5-minute drive from Grace Bay. The Wine Cellar also offers online ordering and delivery straight to your villa or resort, available via their website.
The liquor shop also offers a greater diversity of products than Graceway Gourmet in Grace Bay, or other mini-markets you’ll find at your resort. It’s also the best place to order from if you’re planning a large event or need large quantities of alcohol—if you order in bulk, the Cellar often coordinates delivery.
Spirits, Beers, and Wines
The Wine Cellar carries everything from bags of ice for the beach to cases of Dom Perignon to pop at a wedding. Specifically, they carry red and white wines, beers, ciders, sparkling wines, and a large assortment of rums, which are especially popular in the Caribbean. Most of the other spirits they carry come from North America, Europe, and the Caribbean. The Wine Cellar regularly stocks a full range of bourbon, brandy, cognac, gin, sherry, rum, tequila, vodka, and whiskey.
If you’re looking for something unique, try cachaça, a Brazilian spirit made from fermented sugarcane that tastes similar to rum. Local brands get their share of shelf space here, too, like Osprey Vodka, the ever-popular Bambarra Rum (named after the Bambarra community), and Caicos Cream, a local brand of Irish cream.
Special Events
The Wine Cellar is well-known in and around the event scene on Providenciales. Come March, they host a popular St. Patrick’s Day pub crawl that sends participants on a hunt for brews and cocktails at stops like Sharkbite Bar and Grill, Blu Bar & Lounge, and Simone's Bar and Grill. Outside of special holidays, they also participate in and host special dinners, tastings, and charity events featuring the brands they stock. To attend some of these events, you’ll want to reserve your spot well in advance—tickets tend to sell out quickly. If you’re buying quantities of Veuve Clicquot, you can book out the store’s Veuve-branded Champagne Cart, a yellow-and-white striped drink station on wheels that serves as a mobile bubbly bar for special events.
Bringing Alcohol from Providenciales Back Home
Bottles of local alcohol make for great souvenirs. But before bringing any wines, spirits, or beers back home, be sure to check the limit on duty-free imports upon reentry to your home country. Many countries allow each adult traveler 1-1.5 liters.

The Wine Cellar is centrally located on the island on Leeward Highway. Look for the distinctive castle-like structure with tall palms bordering it. The Wine Cellar is less than a 10-minute drive from Grace Bay.
