Experience Turks and Caicos
Unit H205, Regent Village, Grace Bay Road, Grace Bay, Providenciales
Experience Turks and Caicos is a local non-profit organization registered with the Financial Services Commission (the Government body overseeing companies and non-profits). It is engaged in various local tourism initiatives, which includes, as the name suggests, projects designed to enhance the local tourism experience. Other popular non-profit organizations include Potcake Place, dedicated to helping control the local feral dog population through spaying/neutering and adoption, and the Turks and Caicos Reef Fund, one of the foremost environmental organizations dedicated to help preserve the marine environment.
Projects
Experience Turks and Caicos has been involved in several projects to enhance visitor experiences at local heritage attractions, including a partnership with the National Trust to install seating and interpretive signage at the Crossing Place Trail.
A new initiative for 2025 is family-island Christmas markets, designed to help support and promote local vendors offering Turks and Caicos wares, food, and other gifts.
Through funding from both private organizations and the Government, they have also installed trash receptacles at some tourist spots, such as Bambarra Beach, through their initiatives to help keep Turks and Caicos Beautiful by Nature.
Department of Tourism Regulations
As a non-profit, Experience Turks and Caicos is not a government department and has no role in the licensing and regulation of accommodations and other tourism businesses in the Turks and Caicos. Rather, licensing of accommodation and other tourism businesses is regulated by the Department of Tourism Regulations under the Ministry of Tourism.
In the past, there was a Government-run Tourist Board, which was a statutory body under the Ministry of Tourism. However, this entity was dissolved in 2023, with the passing of the Turks and Caicos Islands Tourist Board (Dissolution) Ordinance 2023, and the assets and liabilities of the Tourist Board were not transferred to Experience Turks and Caicos, rather, they were simply vested in the Government.
The non-profit currently does not have permanent leadership (as of late 2025), and is instead headed by an interim CEO. They have an office located in Grace Bay.
