What is a Patty?
A patty is essentially a personal sized savory pastry, which may be vegetable, chicken, beef, lobster, cheese, or another flavor. The crust is flaky, similar to a turnover, and pie-like, yet the filling is typically somewhat more blended than other traditional meat pies. Patties often incorporate turmeric, which adds spiciness and a natural yellow color to the food.
Patties are perfect for takeout. They’re best warm, yet are still good when they cool down.
Devon House Ice Cream
Devon House Ice Cream is one of the best known and most popular ice cream makers in Jamaica and the Caribbean, and Patty Place imports their ice cream from the original source in Jamaica.
Devon House is a popular historical attraction in Kingston in Jamaica, as was the mansion of George Stiebel, that country’s first black millionaire. A café in the courtyard of the property serves the famous ice cream associated with Devon House.
Patty Place imports and serves a wide collection of flavors, from quintessential vanilla and chocolate, to favorites such as Devon Stout, pistachio, coffee, coconut, rum, and many other varieties. Ice cream is served both in cones and cups.
