Mary's Kitchen

Blue Hills, Providenciales

Mary’s Kitchen is a local, family-owned beachfront restaurant in Blue Hills, Providenciales. They specialize in home-style, authentic Turks and Caicos cuisine. A unique feature of the restaurant is the large, octagonal bar built around a large Casuarina tree, right next to the beach.

Blue Hills is one of the 3 original local settlements on Providenciales (along with Five Cays and The Bight), and due to it’s location here, you’ll get an interesting view looking ‘back’ towards Grace Bay. Unlike many other beach bars in TCI, which generally have you facing away from the beach and water, the octagonal bar and shape allows you to choose either a bay view overlooking the water, or people watch on the main road leading into Blue Hills.

This is a newer restaurant and isn’t as well know as a place such as Da Conch Shack, but don’t let that dissuade you from stopping by. It’s also a bit more of a local place as well…you’ll see tourists eating at Mary’s Kitchen for example, but you probably won’t see any locals eating at Da Conch Shack.

Mary’s Kitchen can have a lively atmosphere, especially later in the day, when local residents sometimes stop by for a game of dominos.

Food and Drink

This venue service the full range of local cuisine, from seafood dishes such as snapper and grouper, to classical favorites like oxtail and stew pork. Of course, conch dishes are served as well, including conch salad, cracked conch, and conch fritters.

Drink wise, their Caribbean rum punch is a popular choice, and they serve the full range of local and imported beers.

Good to Know

Mary’s Kitchen is generally cash only, and if you are visiting outside of regular meal hours, consider calling ahead to ensure they are open (they probably are). Alternatively, it’s a short stop before Da Conch Shack, so if you stop by and they are closed, you can just continue a bit further down the road to Da Conch Shack instead. If you’re visiting on Sunday, you may want to call ahead and ensure that they’re open.
