Things to Do

East Bay beach on South Caicos at East Bay Resort
East Bay Beach, fronting the resort.

In between laying out on our private, low-density beach, visiting our spa, or dining at the onsite restaurant, guests will enjoy exploring South Caicos.

Our most popular tour is the trip to Long Cay, an uninhabited, wild island just a short distance away from East Bay Resort. Located on the precipice of the South Caicos wall, on one side of the cay, guests see shallow, turquoise waters, and in stark contrast the other side of the cay the water becomes a deep cerulean blue as the wall plunges from 35 to 4,000 feet deep.

The North Sound is a stunning day trip from East Bay Resort. With hidden sandbars and calm currents, it’s the ideal place for a day of kayaking with the family. Witness the kaleidoscope of ever-changing shades of blue as the sunlight filters through the shallow sea.

The wild red cushion sea stars that make up famous Starfish Alley are a highlight of any trip to South Caicos. Witness the sea stars in their natural habitat, and marvel at their beautiful colors against brilliant white sandbars. The water is crystal clear and makes for stunning photographs.

With a vast array of wild seafood, from conch, to lobster, to grouper or snapper, our local fish market is the ideal place to pick up your dinner. Meet the locals and bargain for your favorite fish at this daily event. Located at the pier at Cockburn Harbour at 3 pm every day, the market offers same-day caught fresh seafood for incredible prices.

With over 1.5 miles of white powder sand and stunning turquoise water, our beach is part of the Admiral Cockburn National Park, a 480-acre stretch of marine and terrestrial protected area. Protected because of its stunning natural features, including island bluffs, azure water, and fantastic dive sites, Admiral Cockburn is an important national landmark that East Bay Resort is privileged to call home. Because the beach is protected, the water is crystal clear and calm, providing a relaxing atmosphere to relax on the beach or adventure off into the Caribbean.
