Sugar Kube is located on the beach at Smith's Reef, which is a spectacular system of snorkelling reefs. A short private path leads directly onto the sand from the villa.
Coral can be both found close off the beach, as well as a little farther out, where the variety and vibrancy of the coral increases.
There’s a wonderful menagerie of colourful reef fish, corals, and rays to see. Sea turtles, spotted eagle rays, and stingrays can also be seen in the vibrant sea grass beds that surround the reefs.
It’s always interesting to look for the smaller creatures as well. Flamboyantly-coloured flamingo tongue snails are often on sea fans, lobsters and shrimp hide under the crevices, and eels hide in the coral heads. Many sea animals are masters of camouflage, and are able to change their colour to match the setting.
The adjacent enclave at Turtle Cove and Turtle Cove Marina features a great collection of restaurants, shops, and nightlife, all within easy walking distance. The marina is also a launch point for several boat charter and dive companies.
The first area on Providenciales to see tourism development, Turtle Cove is now home to the popular Turtle Cove Marina complex. Several hotels, restaurants, shops and vacation villas can be found here, along with the excellent Smith's Reef snorkeling site.
