The Sanctuary

Parrot Cay
The Sanctuary estate, Parrot Cay, Turks and Caicos
The main house at The Sanctuary.

The Sanctuary is located on the private island of Parrot Cay, which is found in the chain of small cays between Providenciales and North Caicos. The 8,947 square foot property is managed by the COMO Parrot Cay resort. Rates start at about $46,000 per night.

The Sanctuary is an estate that consists of a main house and two guesthouses, with a total available bedroom count of 11 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms. All bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms, with accommodations suitable for up to 22 people.

The island of Parrot Cay offers a unique experience and atmosphere, and a bit different from that of Providenciales. As a private cay that has attracted the rich and famous, a vacation on the cay is quite curated, and the only other persons about are resort and property staff, other guests, and perhaps a limited number of residents or homeowners.

Transit to Parrot Cay is largely arranged through the resort, and is via small passenger ferry, which departs from the Leeward area of Providenciales. There is no air strip or airport on Parrot Cay.

Amenities

Stays at The Sanctuary include the services of a butler and three meals per day, private chef, and housekeeping. Onsite is a large pool, and guests staying at The Sanctuary have access to many of the amenities of the resort, including tennis, the use of water sports equipment, the spa, and dining.

The Beach

The beach fronting The Sanctuary is quite nice, albeit not quite as striking as the beach fronting the Parrot Cay Resort, Grace Bay Beach, or much of Leeward Beach. As the property is located in the lee of the northern peninsula on Parrot Cay, the water is typically calm and sheltered, yet lush seagrass beds off the coast give the ocean an emerald hue, rather than the signature turquoise of many of the Turks and Caicos beaches.
